Update on Adult Carer Support Service Waiting Times

We would like to make you aware that, due to a significant increase in demand for our services, together with the impact of summer holidays and reduced staffing capacity during July, Carers referred to Connecting Carers may experience longer waiting times than usual to access support.

Our service remains fully open, and we continue to welcome referrals. However, we want to be transparent that, while staffing levels are reduced over the summer period, our team may not be able to respond as quickly as we would normally aim to.

We are prioritising those with the most urgent needs and are working hard to ensure that every Adult Carer receives a response as soon as possible. Throughout this period, we will continue to provide support to existing Adult Carers, including:

  • Advice and information through our Support Line
  • Carer Conversations and Adult Carer Support Plans
  • Social groups, events and training opportunities

We recognise the vital role unpaid Carers play and understand that delays in accessing support may be frustrating. We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and greatly appreciate your patience and understanding. We expect waiting times to improve as staffing capacity returns to normal following the summer period.

In the meantime, professionals and Carers may also wish to access support from the following organisations and resources:

Thank you for your continued understanding and support. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact our team.
