to get involved with Training events and other relevant services.

Many sessions are currently offered online. However, there are also some outdoor activities that are able to happen "face to face" and conditions apply to these to safeguard people. 


You are welcome to book any or all sessions that you wish, while spaces remain, and sessions are open and free of charge to unpaid Carers in Highland.

Stepping Out. Your personal walking or activity challenge throughout July.

Could you do with getting out for a walk more often? Opportunity to challenge yourself to walk, wheel, cycle, jog, or run ...  or however you prefer to get around , during July.  Or clock up some time doing some yoga, stretching, dancing, swimming, mindful movements,  or whatever inspires you to enjoy healthy movement and activity. Register for this challenge and we will send you a Google Form link to log your achievements as steps, miles or hours to suit yourself. We will also email you during the challenge as a motivational memory jogger too. Hopefully we will have an amazing total to celebrate at the end of July. 


Self Managing my Health and Wellness as a Carer with Anne Stewart, LGOWIT and Linda Birnie

This session with Anne Stewart, LGOWIT and Linda Birnie, Connecting Carers, offers tools to Carers to support their own health and wellbeing.  Resources are discussed to enable Carers to be better prepared to self manage their own long term health condition, whether or not this has been formally diagnosed. The session introduces resources developed by LGOWIT, and gives an opportunity to explore these with other Carers. 


Gentle Yoga with Natalia Maguire - chair adaptation included if/as wished

Linda is a trainer in moving and handling and highlights the theory of workings of the spine and helping to keep self and others safe and well during day to day tasks and while supporting someone. Includes developing an understanding of safer moving and handling for objects, considerations to help avoid injury to self and others and techniques to avoid. Also an opportunity to meet other Carers. 

Legal Q & As (Questions and Answers) with Neil Speight, Munro and Noble Solicitors

Making beautiful images with cyanotypes & natural objects with Gael Hillyard

A ranger from High Life Highland will guide and inform us during an easy paced walk in the Ness Islands, Inverness, and beyond. This is a beautiful walk with lots to see. An hour to get a breath of fresh air, stretch the legs, connect with nature and meet other Carers. We will confirm the specific meet up place to attendees. Conditions apply to help keep everyone safe, well, and comfortable.
