Make a difference

Volunteering can be one of the most rewarding things you do

Do you know you can volunteer from as little as 1 hour a week? Some of our supporting roles can be given from comfort of your own home.

Whether you volunteer on a regular basis or only have time to volunteer occasionally, we would love to hear from you. Your time and your skills can make a real difference to the daily lives of the Carers and Young Carers we support.

Our Volunteering Opportunities

We have a variety of roles that you may be interested in being involved with, including:

Counselling (qualified or student placement)
Supporting Adult/Young Carers
Local Support Groups (Face to Face)
Online Support Groups
Fundraising
Carers Call Highland (telephone befriending or online support)
Events
Board of Trustees

Our opportunities are varied: there is something for everyone. Do you have life experiences, a skill or simply time that you would be happy to share with Carers? We would love to hear from you!

Our volunteers come from all walks of life and are from all across Highland. What they have in common is a caring and friendly personality and the ability to help Carers.

All of our volunteering roles require PVG Scheme Membership.

The benefits of being a Volunteer

Connecting Carers volunteers are supported in their role, paid out-of-pocket expenses and given training to enable them to develop and get the most out of their volunteering experience.

In addition, volunteers learn valuable new skills, meet new people and are part of the wider volunteering team, who all help to make a difference.
