Free Workshop on Self Directed Support

Helping carers to manage SDS options. Funded through the Scottish Government, Penumbra and Connecting Carers are delivering a series of workshops to help people to use the values of Self Directed Support to enable self management opportunities and work towards greater independence.

Carers Craft Support Group Event

The craft group is an opportunity for carers to take some time for themselves and try out a new craft. It takes place on the last Tuesday of the month in the Alzheimer Scotland Dementia Resource Centre on Strothers Lane in Inverness from 12.30pm to 2.30pm on 30 August 2016.

Reach Out - make a difference

Ross County Football Club, a Ross-shire councillor and a local charity have joined forces to help launch a major campaign by NHS Highland to tackle loneliness and social isolation.

Reach Out – Make a difference for someone who’s lonely’ officially kicked-off in Ross-shire this morning (Friday, 19th August) at the club’s Global Energy Stadium in Dingwall.

Support for unpaid carers at Raigmore Hospital

Unpaid carers can now access catering discount of 50% in staff canteens within Raigmore Hospital from 8th August 2016.

New Emergency Number for Electrical Emergencies!

 On 6th September a new national phone number “105” will be launched by electricity network operators for customers to call should they need to report or get information about a power cut in their area.
