Who are Connecting Carers?

Connecting Carers is part of the Charity Highland Community Care Forum (HCCF) which has been in existence since 1983.  HCCF is made up of three services: Connecting Carers, Connecting Young Carers and Highland Carers Advocacy.

Today Connecting Carers is the local Carer Centre for Highland, delivering carer services on behalf of NHS Highland and Highland Council.

Our Vision is:  A better life for unpaid carers in Highland
Our Mission is: To connect carers to the support they need for a better life

In 2014 Connecting Carers undertook and was awarded PQASSO Quality Mark, a nationally recognised award endorsed by the Charity Commission that offers users as well as commissioners and funders external verification of the quality and credibility of an organisation.  PQASSO is the leading quality standard developed for the voluntary sector, by the sector. Used systematically, it helps us to run our organisation more effectively and efficiently.

In addition to our PQASSO Quality Mark, Connecting Carers' carers centre has been recognised as a Centre of Excellence by the Carers Trust.  We would like to take the time to thank all the Staff whose hard work enabled us to gain this award.

Connecting Carers continues to grow and develop.  We are currently in the process of developing a 3 year strategic business plan to ensure our carer centre services continue to evolve to meet the needs of unpaid carers in Highland.
